What are the benefits of using the KERALINE Brazilian Keratin Treatment Kit? 1. Treatment: the Brazilian keratin treatment is first and foremost a treatment. KERALINE’s keratin (from which hair is made) and nutrient components repair, strengthen and protect hair. 2. Natural: the technique does not affect the structure of the hair and KERALINE is specially formulated to be gentle. 3. Practical, fast and economical: the kit is ready to use so no more time spent making hair appointments and waiting your turn. 4. Results: hair becomes thicker and shinier and the effect is completely natural. 5. Lasts for up to 4 months: depending on the hair type and use of KERALINE after-care products. 6. Made for everyone: from wavy to curly or frizzy, a Brazilian keratin treatment can straighten your hair to put an end to frizz! It also works to tame wild hair and on hair that is brittle, has split ends, is damaged or lacklustre. 7. Formulated and manufactured by a reliable laboratory recognized for the quality of its products. How long does the treatment take? Depending on hair type and length, a Brazilian keratin treatment should take from 1 ½ to 2 ½ hours, drying and straightening included. (With the help of a friend, you can cut the time in half!) How long do the effects of a KERALINE keratin treatment last? A Brazilian keratin treatment can last up to four months depending on the hair type and use of KERALINE post-treatment care products (shampoo and conditioner, available in 250 ml bottles). How does the treatment work? This is a two-step treatment: a clarifying shampoo (to eliminate impurities and prepare the hair), and the keratin treatment formula enriched with pequi oil. The keratin penetrates deep into the hair cuticle and is sealed into the hair using heat from the hairdryer and flat iron. Are the effects of a Brazilian keratin treatment permanent? No! To go back to your natural hair type, simply stop using the KERALINE after-care products and switch to a regular shampoo to gradually strip the keratin treatment from your hair. Why is the Brazilian Keratin treatment considered “natural”? This treatment is a straightening technique that does not chemically alter the internal hair structure (like traditional straightening and Japanese hair straitening processes). The treatment consists of applying a coat of keratin (natural component of hair) and is considered to be a hair care treatment. KERALINE uses natural, top-quality keratin. What are keratin and pequi oil? Keratin, a fibrous protein, constitutes 95% of what the hair is made of. The keratin used in KERALINE is natural and of the highest quality. Pequi (caryocar brasiliense) is a fruit tree native to Brazil. Rich in oleic fatty acids, the fruit contains a remarkable energizing, nutrient-rich, protective oil. Why use the KERALINE After-Care Shampoo and Hair Conditioner? KERALINE shampoo and conditioner, which are sodium laurate sulphate, paraben and dye-free, were developed specifically to prolong the effects of a straightening treatment. The KERALINE shampoo with plant proteins and a neutral pH is rich in vitamins B5, E and F, and naturally nourishes and hydrates the hair. The KERALINE conditioner, enriched with natural keratin and pequi oil, completes the treatment by providing additional hydration, strong protection, and shine, and leaving hair tangle-free. What happens when my hair grows back? The Long-Acting After-Care Shampoo and Conditioner contribute to maintaining the effects of the treatment on the entire length of hair, even on the new growth. Why is my hair curly again after the first shampoo following a treatment? The Brazilian keratin treatment does not break the hair’s structure but strengthens, nourishes and protects it by adding a “natural” coating: keratin. As such, it is normal for your hair to return to its natural state. However, once straightened with a flat iron, the hair will regain its smoothness. What do I do if my hair gets wet in the two days following the treatment? Immediately dry the affected area using a hairdryer and/or straighten the hair with a flat iron. Is there enough product for very long, thick or curly hair? The treatment was formulated to suit most hair types. The bottles of product included in the kit are enough to treat a very thick, curly head of hair 60 cm long. The amount of keratin required (bottle #2) will depend on the hair type. Are some accessories better than others to maintain results? Yes! For example, to straighten long hair, it is preferable to opt for a large round brush to straighten bigger sections at a time. Also, to obtain top-quality results, the key is to select a flat iron with ceramic plates that heat to between 220°C and 230°C. Are there any risks to the Brazilian keratin treatment? The KERALINE treatment uses gentle, top quality ingredients that are selected to minimize the possibility of allergic reactions. Precautions for use are the same as those for shampoo. How does this treatment differ from traditional straightening or a Japanese hair straightening process? Traditional straightening and Japanese hair straightening processes are permanent and considered harsh: these techniques use chemicals to break the hair structure and then restructure it once straight. Streaks or colour before or after a Brazilian keratin treatment? It is recommended to streak or colour your hair before a Brazilian keratin treatment. However, if you have already done a Brazilian keratin treatment, wait two to three weeks before streaking or colouring your hair. Is a Brazilian keratin treatment compatible with a Japanese hair straightening process or traditional straightening? Yes, given that the Brazilian keratin treatment is a hair care treatment, it can be used after either of the above processes.
